Japanese gang Yamaguchi-gumi dumps toxic liquid in garbage, poisoning 14 people

It is reported that the plastic bucket was discarded in the Higashimoto district of Kobe City, Japan's designated violent group Yamaguchi-gumi headquarters. Hyogo Prefecture police searched the headquarters of Yamaguchi-gumi on Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of violating the Waste Disposal Law and investigated the purpose of the liquid.

According to the search personnel, the plastic drums containing the toxic liquid were collected from the Yamaguchi-gumi headquarters by industrial waste recycling workers in Higashimoto Ward of Kobe City, and the process is suspected of violating the handling procedures of workers and other regulations.

Hydrofluoric acid is a volatile liquid that is widely used in industry and is designated by the Toxic Substances Control Act. Exposure to hydrofluoric acid can damage human skin and even cause death if inhaled.

In September 2012, a large amount of hydrofluoric acid leakage accident occurred in a chemical factory in South Korea, which affected the health of nearby residents. In January 2013, there was another leak of hydrofluoric acid at a semiconductor plant of Samsung Electronics in South Korea, resulting in one death.
