Subsequently, the inspection and quarantine staff intercepted the package according to law, sent the Notification of Inspection and Quarantine of Inbound Postal Items to the recipient, and sent the intercepted live tree frogs to the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for professional species identification.
It is reported that the three species of tree frogs intercepted this time are not endangered species in the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Among them, the red-eyed tree frog is mainly distributed in the Central American rainforests; Tiger-legged monkey tree frog is distributed in more than 10 countries, including Argentina and Brazil. The white-bellied reed frog is found in southeastern Madagascar at altitudes below 800 meters. Because of its rich colors and high ornamental value, it has become the new favorite of many exotic pet players.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, AQSIQ announcement No. 1712 requirements, live animals are prohibited to mail entry items.
