Madagascar's capital is invaded by locusts, covering the sky like dark clouds

Madagascar's capital, Antananarivo, was hit by locusts Tuesday, a rare sight that obscured the sun like large clouds.

China news network August 29, according to foreign media reports, local time 28, Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar suffered locust "attack", countless locusts covered the sky, such as large clouds, rare scenes.

According to reports, on the same day, locust swarms attacked Antananarivo, the local sky immediately darkened, children in the street rushed to avoid.

A large number of locust carcasses rained down on florists who burned their tires in an attempt to drive away the locusts. Other children put locusts in plastic bags, saying they would feed them to their chickens.

Locusts are common in the Indian Ocean island nation of Madagascar, where they thrive in a humid and hot climate. Last time, locusts spread across the country, ravaging rice and corn fields.

Experts say a recent heatwave has driven large numbers of locusts out of their fields and into cities. Experts from the United Nations and Madagascar have also used planes and helicopters to spray insecticides in recent months in a bid to combat the locusts.
