The pilot test of domestic metallocene polypropylene catalyst was successful for the first time in Maoming Petrochemical

Recently, Maoming Petrochemical Research Institute and cooperative units carried out a pilot test of domestic metallocene polypropylene catalyst application, polymerization test was carried out in a 12-cubic meter bulk reactor, and 12.7 tons of pilot product was produced. The analysis results show that the pilot test has fully reached the expected goal, proving that the domestic catalyst has high activity, good sensitivity to hydrogen regulation, and the melting finger of the product can reach more than 2000g/10min. At the same time, it also solved the problems that the catalyst feeding line was easy to plug and the reaction was not controlled.

It is reported that the metallocene polypropylene catalyst system has a single catalytic activity center, the production of metallocene polypropylene has good spinnability, high transparency and gloss, low precipitation and other advantages, products are mainly used in spinning, non-woven fabrics, staple fibers, food containers, packaging, thin-walled containers, medical and health fields.

Over the years, the technology has been monopolized by several large foreign companies, and the metallocene polypropylene catalysts used in China are imported.

In order to promote the transformation of the results of China's self-developed metallocene polypropylene catalyst system, Maoming Petrochemical Company, Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry and Xiamen University after years of joint research, the catalyst developed by Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry was successfully applied in the pilot plant for the first time. It is the first successful pilot test of domestic metallocene polypropylene catalyst in China. It indicates that the domestic catalyst of this type has become mature, which lays the foundation for the breakthrough progress of metallocene polypropylene technology localization in the future.
