Cameroon: Protecting the environment with beverage bottle ships
Recently, in the coastal city of Kribi in southern Cameroon, a young man named Ismael caught the media's attention. The reason is that he and his team are engaged in a special environmental work, making boats out of beverage bottles. Ismail says he lives in a city where a large number of discarded plastic beverage bottles not only pollute the environment, but also often clog sewer pipes and cause waterlogging. So he came up with the idea of using plastic bottles to build boats, hoping to make people aware of the importance and feasibility of protecting the environment and strengthening waste recycling. So far, Ismail's team has built five small boats with plastic bottles and launched them into the water for experiments.
