Recently, FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co LTD filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation and decided to recall some imported and China's Audi cars in batches, a total of 391,874 vehicles, in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall and the Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall. The details are as follows:

(a) Part of imported Audi A4Avant2.0T and A52.0T cars produced from September 19, 2019 to October 30, 2019, a total of 1868;

(ii) Part of the China's Audi A4L2.0T, A6L2.0T and Q5L2.0T cars produced from August 17, 2017 to March 24, 2020, a total of 390006 vehicles.

Recall schedule: starting from June 5, 2020, recall imported A4Avant, A5 cars and China's A4L, A6L, Q5L cars produced before August 31, 2019; Recall of China's A4L, A6L and Q5L vehicles manufactured after September 1, 2019, starting from September 29, 2020.

Due to the manufacturing reasons of the supplier, there may be small injection holes in the inverters of some starter generators. When moisture accumulates in the inverters, there may be electrolytic short circuit in the internal electronic components of the inverters, which may lead to local heat accumulation in the starter generators. In extreme cases, the possibility of vehicle fire cannot be ruled out. There is a safety hazard.

FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co LTD will entrust authorized Audi dealers to replace starter generators free of charge for vehicles covered by the recall to eliminate safety hazards. In order to ensure the timely supply of spare parts, the starter generators used in the recall will be made of Audi's original remanufactured parts, which use permanent waterproof paint to seal the conductive bracket of the starter generator inverter to avoid internal short-circuit problems caused by water vapor entering the conductive bracket. Faw-volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. confirmed that the original Audi remanufactured parts fully meet Audi's quality standards, and offered a 10-year extended warranty service with unlimited mileage for the recalled and replaced starter generators.

FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will notify the owner through registered mail, SMS and other means, and Audi authorized dealers will take the initiative to contact relevant users and arrange free recall maintenance matters according to the recall plan.
