High-speed rail contact network afraid of strong winds? Experts call for everyone to maintain high-speed rail safety

On the first day of the "May Day" holiday, "Beijing West Railway Station" was a hot search. Due to strong winds, the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway overhead contact line hanging foreign objects caused high-speed rail power outages, several high-speed trains could not start, and a large number of passengers were stranded in the Beijing West Railway Station and ticket gates. After the emergency repair of the railway department, the power supply system was restored in time. As of 11 PM on May 1, there were no stranded passengers in Beijing West Railway Station.

Since 14:00 on May 4, the official microblog of China Railway Beijing Bureau has continuously released news that some sections of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, Beijing-Harbin Line and other railways have a foreign body hanging in the overhead contact line, resulting in train delays on related routes. In the afternoon of the same day, the foreign objects hanging on the overhead contact line of these lines have been dealt with, and the train order has gradually resumed. Gao Shibin, a professor at Southwest Jiaotong University and director of the National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering and Technology Research Center, said that the overhead contact line of electrified railways is the only way for trains to obtain electric energy. The catenary is characterized by being set up in the open air with no backup. The plastic film covered by farmers' planting, the dust net on the construction site, the plastic greenhouse, the plastic packaging bag, the kite line and other "floating objects" that float under the action of strong winds may float to the wrist arm of the contact line.

If it is a gold floating object, such as tin foil, may cause short circuit of the contact line, resulting in tripping. Another situation is that the floating objects will become entangled in the pantograph of the high-speed train, which may pull the entire section of the catenary, resulting in the collapse of the network phenomenon, which is a serious accident.

Experts call: Enhance the safety awareness of the whole people to keep the railway "safety red line"

Gao Shibin said that the Ministry of Transport and other seven departments jointly issued the "high-speed railway safety protection management Measures". Management measures require that within 500 meters of the railway shall not lift kites, balloons, sky lanterns and other objects. It also prohibits the use of crossbows, slingshots, air guns and other activities that may endanger the safe operation of high-speed railways.

Experts call on the public to build up the awareness of ensuring the safety of high-speed railways, abide by safety regulations, and work together to make high-speed railways run better and safer through the efforts of railways and people along the railway lines.
