In the first three quarters, the import and export of private enterprises in Fujian Province increased by 6.2% year-on-year

According to the statistics of Fuzhou and Xiamen Customs, in the first three quarters of 2024, the import and export of private enterprises in Fujian Province reached 885.5 billion yuan, an increase of 6.2% over the same period, a record high in the same period, accounting for 59.6% of the total value of foreign trade import and export in Fujian Province. Among them, exports reached 648.93 billion yuan, up 7.3 percent year on year; And imports 236.58 billion yuan, up 3.4 percent year-on-year.
Private enterprises have played an important role in promoting market diversification. In the first three quarters, the import and export of private enterprises in Fujian province to ASEAN, the United States, the Middle East and Japan reached 216.63 billion yuan, 131.97 billion yuan, 41.97 billion yuan and 25.1 billion yuan, respectively, up 19.5 percent, 16.4 percent, 3.3 percent and 8 percent; Imports and exports to countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative and other RCEP members were 434.74 billion yuan and 324.81 billion yuan, up 4.8 percent and 11.6 percent, respectively.
Private enterprises have played a flexible role in their business, and promoted the continuous optimization of the export product mix. In the first three quarters of this year, the export of mechanical and electrical products reached 246.57 billion yuan, up 2.6 percent year on year, becoming the first bulk export commodity, accounting for 38 percent of the total export value of private enterprises in the same period. Among them, the export of household appliances, medical instruments and instruments, computer integrated manufacturing technology and optoelectronic technology products increased by 26.6 percent, 24.7 percent, 38.3 percent and 20.7 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the export of electric manned vehicles, one of the "new three types", was 2.72 billion yuan, up 138.4 percent year on year. In addition, exports of traditional labor-intensive products such as textiles and clothing and plastic products reached 205.89 billion yuan, up 7.7 percent year on year.
The import volume of commodities and consumer goods maintained steady growth. Since 2024, private enterprises in Fujian have accelerated the upgrading of equipment, and have continuously accumulated momentum and empowered innovation. Among them, the imports of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and machines and devices for manufacturing flat panel displays were 5.2 billion yuan and 4.15 billion yuan respectively, up 6.6 percent and 53.6 percent, respectively.
