During the COP28, many Chinese technology companies shared their achievements in low-carbon development and green operations with the world.
During the United Nations Climate Change Conference, the Blue Zone of Dubai Expo City set up booths for many companies. Among them, the booths of several technology companies from China attracted many visitors' attention. Chinese companies displayed low-carbon products and technologies such as eco-friendly mobile phone packaging boxes and mobile phone membranes. Staff present also shared with visitors how to reduce plastic pollution with the help of green technology. Yu Zhaoyang, marketing director of Lanjing Microbiology, a Chinese technology company exhibiting at the exhibition, said, "We are using the technology of synthetic biology to use microorganisms to create an environmentally sustainable innovative material. This material is grown from microorganisms, just like human body fat, it can be made into a variety of different forms, can be made into a variety of products, such as mobile phone boxes, mooncake boxes, or such a mobile phone protective shell, it is OK."
According to the reporter, the use of this green material made of mobile phone case, not only has a good texture, consumers feel very comfortable when touching, using the mobile phone; And this material in the natural environment can be degraded, will not cause plastic pollution.
Another Chinese tech company exhibiting in the blue zone said that in recent years, many Chinese companies have operated with goals aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In their operations, they adhere to the pursuit of sustainable development in the full cycle management of raw material packaging, product use and recycling, and work with industrial chain partners to practice low-carbon development and move towards a more environmentally friendly future. Liao Jinsong, president of OPPO Research Institute, a Chinese technology enterprise participating in the exhibition, said: "We continue to adhere to green environmental protection innovation and practice sustainable development. In our business, we have established the green management of the whole life cycle, from the selection of raw materials, manufacturing, use of products, all the way to product recycling. We have also made a commitment in 2023 to become carbon neutral in our operations by 2050. These are all efforts to be green as a responsible Chinese technology company."
