India: Resumption of work and production of Chinese companies

Recently, production activities in many places in India have been gradually liberalized. Noida, near New Delhi, India, is an important production and processing zone in northern India. There are many Chinese enterprises here. Let's take a look at the resumption of production of Chinese enterprises in the local area under the epidemic.

The three Chinese companies we interviewed all resumed work around May 8. All employees are required to wash their hands and spray with drugs when entering the factory, and journalists are also required to follow this procedure. The products of all three companies are related to mobile phones. They provide boxes, built-in plastic pads and batteries for the phones. The person in charge of the three companies told reporters that the current return rate of the enterprises is about 20%, and the local competent authorities have restored the production capacity to 33% at most from the perspective of epidemic prevention. At present, the resumption of work and production of Chinese-funded enterprises mainly faces three problems.

The Noida region around New Delhi can be said to be the processing and manufacturing center of northern India. According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 100 Chinese-funded enterprises in Noida. After India imposed a total lockdown on March 25, all Chinese companies stopped production, which had a great impact on their business.

According to the data released by the local government, by May 9, Noida region had approved nearly 130 enterprises to resume production. Among them, 20 are Chinese-owned. The industry estimates that local factories will enter a recovery period in May, and will enter a better state in August.
