Japan urges U.S. to ground F-16 fighter jets until cause of missile drop is determined
China news network November 8, according to the Russian satellite network reported that the Japanese Aomori Prefecture government asked the U.S. military command to find out the cause of the training missile drop incident and take preventive measures before abandoning F-16 fighter drills.
According to previous Japanese media reports, Aomori Prefecture governor Shingo Mitsumura's relevant statement has been submitted to Japanese Defense Minister Taro Kono.
On November 7, a US Air Force fighter plane dropped a training missile during a training flight in Aomori Prefecture, Japan.
There have been repeated accidents involving U.S. military aircraft in Japan. In late August, a US CH-53 heavy transport helicopter "crashed" into the sea off the coast of Okinawa after dropping a plastic window during a flight. In December 2016, a US Osprey thrust reverser crashed during an aerial refueling exercise.
