After the successful trial production of the first batch of carbon materials for energy storage in Jinan Refining and Chemical industry on January 25, as of May 24, Cumulative sales of 6120 tons, 4.65 million yuan more efficient than ordinary petroleum coke products.

In recent years, the rapid development of energy storage, power and new energy automobile industries has led to a large increase in the demand for graphite electrode and lithium battery negative materials, and the market prospect of medium and high-end negative materials is broad. To this end, Jinan Refining and Chemical Co., Ltd. cooperated with Dalian Petrochemical Research Institute and Refining Sales Company in the beginning of last year to establish a project to carry out research on the industrial application of special petroleum coke for high cost performance negative electrode materials.

The project explored the potential of high-quality low-sulfur petroleum coke products of Jinan Refining and Chemical Company, combined with the actual operation of 1.2 million tons/year delayed coking unit, repeatedly optimized raw material properties and process conditions, explored the correlation between coking process, coke structure and application performance, and developed special carbon materials with high capacity, easy graphitization and higher cost performance. It has met the key performance index requirements of negative electrode materials of downstream customers.

In the next step, Jinan Refining and Chemical will cooperate with the project team to develop and improve the quality standards of special carbon materials, continue to stabilize industrial mass production and product quality, and better meet the needs of target customers for negative electrode materials for power batteries.
