Production of major energy products rose in October from a year earlier
In October, the production of major energy products in the industry increased year-on-year, among which raw coal increased by 4%, crude oil increased by 3%, and natural gas increased by 0.5%. Compared with the previous month, raw coal production turned from a decline to an increase, crude oil production was basically stable, and the growth rate of natural gas production declined.
In terms of crude oil and natural gas production, crude oil production was basically stable, and the decline in processing volume widened slightly. In October, 16.83 million tons of crude oil were produced, up 3 percent year on year. The decline in crude oil imports narrowed and international crude oil prices rose. In October, 37.8 million tons of crude oil were imported, down 11.2 percent year on year and 4.1 percentage points narrower than the previous month. From January to October, it imported 425 million tons of crude oil, down 7.2 percent year-on-year.
The growth rate of natural gas production fell. In October, 16.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, up 0.5 percent year on year. Natural gas imports grew rapidly. In October, 9.38 million tons of natural gas were imported, up 24.5 percent year on year and 0.9 percentage points faster than the previous month. From January to October, 99.07 million tons of natural gas were imported, up 22.3 percent year on year.
