The Evonik polyurethane foam stabilizer portfolio has been fully upgraded to sustainable low VOC formulations

- All silicone surfactant products meet or exceed current stringent regulations and sustainability standards

- Evonik offers the polyurethane industry a wide range of hard and soft foam surfactant products

- A full portfolio of catalysts and process additives for the production of low VOC polyurethane foam

Evonik, a leading solution provider for the polyurethane industry, has now fully upgraded its silicone surfactant portfolio. Currently, all products marketed in Europe meet the criteria of low cyclic siloxane residues or low volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

First optimized TEGOSTAB® since 2003; Silicone surfactant products to reduce cyclic siloxane content since then, Evonik has continuously optimized its product portfolio to comply with stringent regulations and sustainability requirements worldwide. In order to better meet customer needs and market expectations, Evonik continues to develop products that are superior to industry standards. At present, the vast majority of Evonik's polyurethane surfactant products on the global market have cyclic siloxane residues in the end product well below the 0.1% required by the industry standard.

cyclic siloxane is an important component of the siloxane polymer. As a commonly used surfactant in the polyurethane industry, siloxane polymers are key to stabilizing polyurethane foams and improving energy efficiency in hard foam applications. Currently, this material is commonly used in construction, automotive, home appliances and other fields.

"Reducing the content of cyclic silicone can meet the growing consumer demand for green products." Ralph Marquardt, Head of Evonik's polyurethane business, said, "With our keen market insight and outstanding innovation capabilities, Evonik was the first company in the polyurethane industry to optimize the formulation of silicone surfactants. "In doing so, we will further enhance the sustainability of our products beyond today's stringent VOC regulatory standards."

Evonik offers a broad portfolio of silicone surfactants to customers in the polyurethane product value chain. These products meet stringent product safety and environmental standards and are certified and labeled by major industry leaders including CertiPUR, LGA, pure life and IKEA IOS Mat 0010. In addition, Evonik regularly performs "product life cycle analysis" on several of its surfactants and provides training and support to partners and customers to improve the sustainability of the polyurethane foam production process.

"Through close collaboration with our customers, we are well aware of the latest market trends. This enables us to proactively develop sustainable and innovative solutions in response to changing market requirements and regulations, thereby helping our customers to produce in a safe and compliant manner and to ensure the quality of the end product." Marquardt added.

Evonik is also one of the world's leading suppliers of polyurethane catalysts and process AIDS, with products that help manufacturers efficiently produce high-performance, low-VOC polyurethane products. In addition to surfactants and catalysts, the Evonik polyurethane portfolio also includes hardeners, functional additives and release agents. These products are marketed as DABCO® , GORAPUR® , ORTEGOL® , POLYCAT® , TEGOSTAB® And VERSALINK® And other brands are sold and have market leading positions.
