The establishment of the new area has attracted the attention of China and even the world to the three previously unknown counties of Xiongxian, Anxin and Rongcheng. As a new highland for future innovation and development, the existing farmland and county-level industries such as plastic processing, paper printing and dyeing, and textile and clothing may no longer exist. Presumably, the lives and work of the farmers who used to live here will also usher in new changes.

What is the life of local farmers like? What do they think about the future? With such questions, the reporter went to Xiongxian for a field visit.

It was exactly 20 days since the establishment of Xiong'an New Area. Early in the morning, Xu Lili from Xihouliu Village, Xiongxian, came to the Rural Taobao Service Station as usual to clean the shop, organize the goods, and prepare to open for business. Xu Lili said that life in the small city of Xiongxian is very plain and comfortable. Until that moment on April 1, she felt that her life seemed to have been rekindled by new changes.

Xu Lili: Look at these daily necessities, the villagers come to choose, it's quite convenient. You see, these mangoes are all ordered by the villagers. For food, I order one first, I try it first, and I recommend it to the villagers. Look at this towel, it's 8 yuan a piece normally, but on Juhuasuan Rural Taobao, it's 22 yuan for 4 yuan, which is quite cheap.

Reporter: What do you think about the establishment of the new district?

Xu Lili: It's definitely a good thing for us.

"Xiong'an New District" - taken from "Xiong County and Anxin County", involves Xiong County, Rongcheng County, Anxin County and some surrounding areas in Hebei Province. In Rongcheng County in the west, there are nearly a thousand clothing companies, more than a dozen of which have sales revenues of over 100 million yuan. Anxin County in the south has rich water resources, and the famous "Oriental Pearl" Baiyangdian is the representative there. Xiong County, located in the easternmost part, is named "China's Plastic Packaging Industry Base". Billboards of plastic enterprises can be seen everywhere on the streets. Walking on the road near the factory, you can hear the sound of machines running. A staff member of the Xiong County Commerce Bureau proudly told reporters:

Head of the Commerce Bureau: Look at this masterbatch. Many plastics come out white, and masterbatches are used for coloring. We are the best in China. Look at this bag, our bags should also be the best. We are a bag production base, which has become an industrial chain. From accessories, combination, sales, all are foreign trade, not domestic sales.

After the establishment of Xiongan New Area, the housing price in Xiong County was once called 50,000 yuan per square meter on the Internet, which was 10 times higher than before. Such a "bubble" makes people think about it, but it has not disrupted the local rural life. Like Xu Lili, Liu Cun, a farmer who is engaged in rural e-commerce in the village, told reporters that rural e-commerce in Xiong County has developed rapidly. Now there are more than 50 village Taobao star service stations in the county. Every day, they go online, place orders, and provide services as usual.

Liu Cun: In the service station, I am the village waiter of the village and the squad leader of Xiong County Rural Taobao Partner Management. If they have any maintenance and other problems, they will come to me and I can help them solve them. There is a class committee structure.

Asked about what plans and ideas for the future? The villagers couldn't say one, two, three, and everyone has changed from the initial surprise and excitement to habit and calmness. In the absence of clear specific plans and personnel placement plans for the new district, everyone understands that the establishment of the new district is an unknown for many local small businesses and trading companies. Whether I leave or stay, the business and work resources I have been engaged in for many years may disappear, and new powerful industries will move in, and new markets and job opportunities will follow.

Ren Jinghu, president of the Xiong County E-Commerce Association, said that he is ready to lead the Internet industry to welcome the opportunity of "reshuffle".

Ren Jinghu: The Internet is a tool for the development of physical enterprises, and it is now an indispensable tool. With the establishment of Xiongan New Area this year, several ideas have begun to be implemented. The first is the construction of overseas warehouses to display the characteristic products of the entire Xiongan area overseas; the second is to register several brands, set up online shopping malls, highlight the display of Xiongan characteristic products, and then set up convenience stores offline.

In the parking lot at the entrance of the Xiongxian County Party Committee Building, the reporter saw that vehicles with license plates from various parts of Hebei accounted for about 60%, and the second most were Beijing license plates, and there were also some from surrounding provinces. Slogans such as "Stop handling house registration procedures" and "Crack down on illegal house speculation" were hung on the trees on both sides of the road. From time to time, people took photos at the entrance of the county party committee building. Everyone had some reluctance on their faces, but more of them were smiles full of hope. It is conceivable that it will not be long before Xiongxian, an ordinary town with only one main road and few high-rise buildings, will undergo earth-shaking changes.

When Liu Cun was asked what plans he had for the future, would he continue to be a "village waiter"? Liu Cun, however, has a clear mind. He said that no matter how the outside world changes, such as company relocation, merger and dissolution, the Internet era will not change. As long as there is the Internet and Village Taobao, there will be express delivery, and as long as there is express delivery, there will be work.

Liu Cun: I will continue to serve the villagers and enterprises. There will definitely be more enterprises.

At present, the Preparatory Committee of Xiongan New Area has been established, and the construction of the new area is being carried out in an intense and orderly manner. Perhaps for the younger generation of Xiong County, the vision of future development opportunities is more exciting than housing prices.
