The biggest feature of the project is a new type of "plastic bag" instead of the traditional glass bottles used to hold oral solution. As a result, the production line can handle 25,000 tons of Chinese medicinal materials every year and produce 3 billion packets of oral liquid annually. The move is a first for the traditional Chinese medicine industry.

As the only state key laboratory in the field of TCM pharmaceutical generic technology in China, the Generic Technology Laboratory relies on Lunan Pharmaceutical Group, based on the development needs of TCM industry, gathers more than 130 high-level talents team, linkage more than 100 universities and institutes, In China, it has formed a dominant position of "production-learning-research" integrated applied research and rapid industrialization of scientific research results.

For a long time, "oral liquid + glass bottle" combination is regarded as the golden partner of liquid drugs. The latter is also because of its transparency, beauty, chemical stability and other advantages, has been considered the first choice for oral liquid packaging, but its large weight, high transportation and storage costs, impact resistance, easy to be broken, difficult to suck and other short board is also criticized by the market. At the same time, traditional Chinese medicine ingredients also have the risk of reaction with glass bottles.

To this end, Lunan Pharmaceutical relies on the State Key Laboratory of common technology, takes Xiaoji cough oral liquid for children as a demonstration carrier, and carries out collaborative technical research with Sichuan Food and Drug Inspection and Testing Institute and related packaging materials and equipment production units.

In May 2020, the State Drug Administration approved composite film packaging materials for the production of oral liquid preparations of traditional Chinese medicine. In this regard, China's first pharmaceutical composite film packaging materials for traditional Chinese medicine oral liquid drug packaging enterprise was born.

The State key laboratory was built in the enterprise, and the former was deeply connected with the earth.

The deputy director of the laboratory Guan Yongxia introduced to reporters: "Compared with the glass bottle, the inner packaging material of a medicine can save about 0.14 yuan, and the money saved by a production line is hundreds of millions; At the same time, in the past, the bottle needs packaging materials, straws, bottle washing machine, lamp inspection and other complex processes, and now only the internal packaging of composite film and outsourcing paper can be done. This means that not only the process is simplified, but there is also less need for labor and supporting equipment."

This isn't the lab's only first-of-its-kind technology. The reporter learned in the interview that the laboratory has also developed China's first traditional Chinese medicine oral liquid sterilization strip production line, the use of automatic liquid strip filling design, a single production line filling speed of 660 bags/minute, can achieve 400,000 bags of product sterilization.

After a large number of screening, polygonum multiflorum, aloe vera, cassia seed, wolfberry, ejiao, ginseng, white art, trifoliate and other herbs participated in the development. Their aim was to find an effective ingredient to regulate the gut microbiota, thereby achieving the purpose of bowel facilitation.

Thanks to the support of modern instruments, the researchers have realized the data and visualization of the analysis of the effects of the above-mentioned medicinal materials. Through the tracking of the ingredients and the tracking of the effects, the new drug "Shouhui laxative capsule" was born.
