the three major factors influencing the performances of CPE
the first: PE used in kinds of & ndash; — CPE obtained from high molecular weight polyethylene has higher viscosity and tensile strength, but the adhesion between CPE and PVC resin is low, the viscosity and tensile strength of CPE obtained from low molecular weight polyethylene is low, and the CPE obtained from high density polyethylene has good heat resistance.
Second: the size of the raw material particles — — When the particle size is too small, it is easy to form gelled or clumpy CPE. When the particle size is too large, the distribution of chlorine is uneven, and it is difficult to dissolve in organic solvents. The particle size range is 0.1-200 &mu. m is best.
Third: the degree of chlorination of CPE — — When the chlorine content is below 25%, the compatibility with PVC is poor and can not be used as a modifier; Chlorine content is greater than 40% and PVC compatibility is good, can be used as a solid plasticizer, not suitable for impact modifier; CPE with a chlorine content of 36-38% has good elasticity and compatibility with PVC, so it is widely used as a PVC impact modifier.
