It is the only prefecture-level city in the province where the national and provincial examination sections have Class бы water in a single month; the total nitrogen and total phosphorus concentrations and eutrophication index of Taihu Lake Wuxi waters have reached the best level since 2007, and the number of blue algae blooms and the average accumulation area have been greatly reduced by more than 40%. The "two guarantees and two increases" have been achieved with high quality, and Taihu Lake has been safely summered for 16 consecutive years.

Refine "prevention, treatment and diversion" to optimize the water environment of rivers and lakes

Recently, near the Baojie Bridge of Dongli Lake, an ecological and environmental protection cutter suction dredger "rumbled", and the front cutter rotated underwater. The loosened mud was sucked in and pumped out by the centrifugal mud pump on the ship, and then sent to Mashan Lake through a closed pipeline, and then transported out after solidification treatment.

Focusing on reducing the burden of internal sources and reducing the amount of external sources, the city has focused on carrying out a new round of comprehensive governance of Taihu Lake this year, and water-related engineering projects account for more than half of the annual 11 billion yuan of Taihu governance funds. Emergency dredging has been stepped up in key waters such as Taihu Lake water source areas, lake flooding prone areas, and scenic spots. The deep water environment treatment of Lihu Lake, the inner lake of Taihu Lake extending into Wuxi, has also entered a substantial start, and ecological dredging has been vigorously carried out to minimize the internal pollution of the lake. At present, the ecological dredging volume of Taihu Lake has exceeded 2.8 million cubic meters, and the ecological dredging volume of Gehu Lake has exceeded 2 million cubic meters, completing the annual task of doing practical things for the people ahead of schedule.

Focus on improving the essential ability of water management and control the water environment quality of rivers entering the lake. This year, the city, with the rivers entering the lake as the driving force, systematically promoted the construction of centralized sewage collection and treatment capacity, comprehensive management of agricultural non-point sources and ecological restoration of rivers, completed the standardized transformation of 38,600 mu of ponds and the construction of 120,000 mu of high-standard farmland, added 66,000 tons/day of domestic sewage treatment capacity, started construction of a new 110,000 tons/day industrial sewage treatment plant, and completed the construction of 5 ecological rivers. Strengthen the prevention and control of blue algae in the lake, divert water from the Yangtze River to Taihu Lake to replenish water, and enhance the "physique" of Taihu Lake. According to a person from the Wuxi Municipal Water Resources Bureau, this year the city has built a two-line prevention and control system of "nearshore salvage-algae and water separation" and "offshore defense-deep well algae control" with higher standards, and accelerated the implementation of key projects such as the second phase of offshore prevention and control of blue algae in Meiliang Lake and offshore prevention and control of blue algae in Qilidi, further improving the salvage and disposal capabilities of blue algae. The city has salvaged a total of 540,000 tons of blue algae, a year-on-year decrease of 74%, the least in 16 years. Wangyu River and Xinmeng River also fully play the role of the main channel for water diversion from the Yangtze River to Taihu Lake, allowing more high-quality water sources to enter the lake, increasing the water environment capacity of Taihu Lake and nearby rivers, improving hydrodynamic conditions, and improving water ecological quality.

After multiple disassemblies and extractions, the metal shells of the battery packs are sold as scrap aluminum and scrap iron; plastics and diaphragms are used for harmless pyrolysis; circuit boards are used for harmless cracking or extraction of precious metals; negative electrodes are used to produce electrolytic copper; positive electrode materials are used to recycle battery materials.

Since the beginning of this year, the city has vigorously promoted the harmless treatment of solid waste on the one hand, and actively implemented the source reduction and recycling of solid waste on the other hand, transforming from "harmless" to "resource-based" to enhance the connotation of "zero-waste city" construction. Recently, Jiangsu Environmental Engineering Taihu Ecological Technology Co., Ltd. opened a test line for the resource utilization of Taihu sludge. "We use solidification and unburned technology to mix the silt and cement produced by the dredging of Taihu Lake in a certain proportion, and then form them through static pressure molding to make unburned bricks, imitation stone PC bricks and other products." The person in charge of the company introduced that the test line has entered the trial production stage. This technology not only has the characteristics of low production energy consumption and high product strength, but also has a wide range of application scenarios and no wastewater and waste gas emissions.

Wuxi has always regarded green as the "main color" and "main melody" of urban development, and continued to promote the low-carbon transformation of the industry.
