This technology can recycle more than 90% of any type of plastic. It can reduce costs by half without reducing the quality of the pellets; this is due to the reduction of several huge temperature rises and drops. And it saves water.
The original recycling method required washing plastic with water. The plastic surface retained water at the molecular level, so it needed to be heated to 180 degrees C to dehydrate, and then cooled with water. This added several processes and consumed energy.
The current new technology includes patents that are still valid today; such as: how to make the plastic close to the wall to cool it; how to granulate the recycled plastic, etc.
