Class Teacher Work
Teacher Dong Yonghong likes to be with students. He arrives at school before 6:40 every morning and leaves at 10:30 in the evening. He has worked at school for 12 hours every day for eight years and has written about 1.5 million words of educational and teaching essays (letters). He advocates and practices the positive management concept of "kind and firm". First, the class rule system is actively established and maintained (including class vision, moral personality courses, and class regulations system); second, it guides students to focus on positive aspects (learning itself) rather than negative aspects (problems themselves).
Carefully read and study pedagogy and adolescent student psychology, carefully prepare for each theme class meeting, actively pay attention to class problems, often approach students, train their empathy (empathy), humorous conversation and broad and strong heart, and treat every student fairly.

Teacher Dong Yonghong loves geography and thinks he is diligent in thinking and good at research. In order to make geography teaching more "interesting" and "useful", he has been learning, actively building relationships with outstanding experts or teachers in the field of geography teaching in China (high-value connections), and consciously tracking the best achievements in related fields (such as professional books and literature); at the same time, he constantly builds community relationships with colleagues and students; in terms of teaching, he constantly explores and innovates, actively implements the latest national geography curriculum standards, and forms the following teaching methods:
In order to cultivate students' interest in geography and their love for their hometown, he has conducted five field surveys around Ordos, covering a distance of about 10,000 km, actively looking for relevant frontier literature and materials, and developing, accumulating, and forming a relatively complete set of local geography course resources. At the same time, he uses his spare time (weekends and holidays) to lead students to conduct field surveys of relevant local geography, such as typical geological landforms (arsenic sandstone), grassland deserts, urban planning, etc. in Ordos, advocating and practicing in-depth research "based on the perspective of interdisciplinary integration".
In addition, as a geography teacher, he has traveled across most of China, involving 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. He has visited the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (western Sichuan, Tibet, northern Yunnan, Qinghai, and southern Gansu) seven times, covering a distance of about 30,000 km. In 2013 and 2014, he rode into Tibet and finally arrived at the base camp of Mount Everest. In 2014 and 2017, he led students into Tibet to conduct field investigations on the natural geographical landscape and local customs of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, search for relevant information, and conduct relevant course research and teaching.

Founded and carried out the "Green,Love" environmental protection love action
From September 2011 to date, Teacher Dong Yonghong has founded and carried out the "Green Campus, Love Overflows the Home" environmental protection-love action (abbreviated as "Green,Love") at Ordos No. 1 Middle School. For seven years, by recycling waste plastic bottles, books and materials, unused stationery or clothing, and waste batteries, we have cultivated students' habits of garbage classification and recycling, and resource integration and utilization, so that students can shift from the understanding of "resources and environment" in geography books to environmental protection behaviors, so that they can truly experience the importance of protecting the environment and saving resources, and the concept of harmony between man and nature can be truly rooted in their hearts; as of June 25, 2018, the charity fund obtained through the sale of classified recycled items and materials totaled more than 300,000 yuan. It has funded 322 poor students from the No. 1 Middle School of the city and 13 leukemia and brain tumor patients outside the school; it has donated to more than 10 poor primary schools, welfare homes, mountain (pastoral) areas in Tibet, Gansu, Guizhou, Sichuan, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia, etc. in the form of purchasing student cultural and sports supplies and cash, such as Jiaochuan Primary School in Gansu, Changba Village Primary School in Bijie, Guizhou, Nuobei Children's Welfare Institute in Shigatse, Tibet, and Zhaxi Zong Primary School at the foot of Mount Everest in Tibet, thereby enhancing students' sense of social responsibility, mission and dedication.
Now, "Green,Love" has spread from No. 1 Middle School to all primary and secondary schools in the city, from the city to China, and from primary and secondary schools to colleges and universities. In 2016, "Green,Love" won the first China Middle School Student Best Club. In the same year, "Green,Love" participated in the "Establishing Morality and Cultivating People" project of China, and successfully completed the project in 2017. "Green,Love" has developed to a new academic height.
In the past 7 years, teacher Dong Yonghong and volunteers have written essays and performance (propaganda) speeches totaling more than 300,000 words; in more than 7 years, "Green,Love" has gone from cognition to practice, from calling to implementation, and is currently going from No. 1 Middle School to China, and will also go from practice to scientificization. Founder of "Tian Xing Jian" Wushu Association
In February 2011, teacher Dong Yonghong founded the school's first club, the "Tian Xing Jian" Wushu Club, in No. 1 Middle School, passing on the martial arts learned in college to my students. Regardless of the cold and heat, wind and rain, they insist on training every day during the break and after school, becoming a beautiful landscape on campus. So far, more than 800 students have been trained. Almost all students who first joined the club had no basic skills. After 2-3 years of hard training, they can successfully perform in various large-scale activities in the school (such as sports games, New Year's Eve parties, graduation ceremonies, etc.). It improves the physical fitness of students, cultivates their willpower and hard-working spirit, and inherits the traditional Chinese martial arts culture. In the 2016 China's first Chinese middle school student club selection activity, the "Tian Xing Jian" martial arts club successfully advanced to the top 30.

Since the summer of 2013, when Dong Yonghong first cycled into Tibet (Qinghai-Tibet Line, 1993.7km, 18 days), he has been connected with Tibet and has been unable to stop. So far, he has visited the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau 7 times in different ways, involving the Sichuan-Tibet Line, the Yunnan-Tibet Line, the Qinghai-Tibet Line, and part of the Xinjiang-Tibet Line. At the same time, he has carried out geographical field surveys on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, developed relevant teaching resources, and written essays totaling more than 100,000 words. He also loves running. For nearly 20 years, he has insisted on running 5-10km every day, rain or shine, and has run more than 30,000km in total. In 2016, he started running marathons, and has completed more than 20 marathons so far, and has led students and teachers to run together.
In the outdoors, he likes photography. In the past 15 years, he has accumulated up to 1,000GB of outdoor photography data. On the one hand, these materials are used for geography teaching, and on the other hand, they are used to continuously train his aesthetic ability. Students and colleagues all use these words to describe Teacher Dong Yonghong: "a man of feelings", "persistent and tenacious", "never abandon, never give up", "outdoor expert", "the sunniest young teacher", "loving expert", "love nature, love life", "passionate young man", "crazy", "always on the road"...
