A homemade bomb exploded at a boarding school in California on Sunday, the work of a 15-year-old student, but no one was hurt. The blast occurred at SAN Pascual College in San Diego County, where the students were adopted teenagers. San Diego County press officer Michael Workman told ABC China that a preliminary investigation showed the bomb appeared to have been made of toilet cleaner and a type of aluminum foil and placed inside a plastic soda bottle. School staff picked up the suspicious item after finding it, and the bomb-making student warned that the bottle would explode, police said. The staff then threw the bottle into nearby bushes, where the bomb exploded minutes later. SAN Pascual College was temporarily closed to investigate the incident.
