A fire broke out at a fireworks factory in New Delhi, India, killing 17 people
New Delhi, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- At least 17 people were killed and many others injured in a fire at a fireworks factory in the Indian capital of New Delhi on Sunday.
According to Indian media reports, the fire occurred in New Delhi's Bhawana Industrial Park, the fire started in the storage of fireworks in the warehouse, then spread to the next plastic factory and fuel storage.
The local fire department said it received the fire at about 6:20 p.m., after which more than a dozen firefighters rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control. The exact cause of the fire is still under further investigation.
