Carcinogens found in the outer packaging of multiple brands including Master Kong and Xiangpiaopiao
Lack of standards, detection and supervision blind spots lead to safety risks in packaging, involving white home, Master Kong, Nishen and many other well-known brands
carcinogenic fluorescent substances are widely present in most disposable tableware, and a large number of lunch boxes on the market that claim "degradable, environmental protection, starch based" actually contain toxic and harmful substances. Reporters yesterday from the International Food Packaging Association of food packaging quality investigation conference learned that due to the lack of national standards, disposable tableware there are many safety risks.
National standard for double-layer paper requirements is not clear
Disposable plastic tableware national standard, there is no content of whether it contains fluorescent substances test, however, the survey of the International food Packaging Association shows that nearly 60% of the samples sent contain fluorescent substances.
In the paper tableware, the investigation team will be investigated instant noodle buckets, milk tea cups and other samples sent to the testing center, the inner surface of the inner layer and the outer surface of the fluorescent substance content. The survey results show that the fluorescent substances in the outer layer of most double-layer paper samples do not meet the requirements of "the maximum fluorescent area of 100 square cm paper samples shall not be greater than 5 square cm" stipulated in the food paper standard, and many well-known brands are involved in them. Including Xiangpiaobao wheat flavor milk tea, Huangzi spicy beef noodles taste over the bridge rice noodles bucket, Baijia Chenji authentic hot and sour fan bucket, Jin Mai Lang spicy Huangshang fragrant pot spicy beef noodles bucket, Master Kong Spicy Beef noodles bucket, Riqing flavor fried instant noodles bucket with shrimp flavor, Lipton classic pure flavor milk tea cup and Deyufang coarse grain quick drink paper cup, Cardiff banana milk flavor soft cake convenient cup .
Dong Jinshi, executive vice president and secretary general of the International Food Packaging Association, pointed out that the plastic tableware samples of the investigation had so many fluorescent discolourescent phenomena that it was suspected that fluorescent whitening agents had been added artificially. Dong Jinshi said that fluorescent whitening agents are not as easy to be broken down as general chemical components, but accumulate in the human body, greatly reducing human immunity, will become a potential carcinogenic factor.
Paper tableware companies argue that the inner layer of its packaging is in line with the national standard, and the existing national standard does not make clear requirements for the inner and outer layers of paper packaging. Dong Jinshi suggested that the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and other standard-related departments should clarify the requirements for double-layer paper, and make clear provisions on the fluorescent substance content and health indicators of the internal and outer paper.
"Environmental protection" tableware residue serious
This survey found that some enterprises under the guise of environmental protection tableware, starch-based tableware or degradable tableware and product quality is hidden danger, degradation tableware is not degraded, environmental protection lunch box is not environmentally friendly problem is very serious.
Guangdong area plastic disposable tableware evaporation residue standard supermarkets are: Shenzhen Walmart supermarket new An Luo Tian store, Foshan RT-fat Guicheng store, Shenzhen Carrefour super city Hongbao store, Shenzhen China Resources Wanjia South Street store, Tesco life supermarket Dongguan tiger store.
"What consumers eat into their stomach is not only the food, but also the plastic, paraffin and stone powder in the fast food box." Dong Jinshi pointed out that the main reason for the excessive evaporation residue is that manufacturers use industrial grade calcium carbonate, talc powder, paraffin and other toxic and harmful substances in production to reduce costs, and even add waste plastics of unknown origin. If toxic and harmful substances penetrate into the food, consumers will cause chronic poisoning after use. In addition, consumers should not blindly believe that "degradable, environmentally friendly, starch-based..." At present, there is no standard basis for environmental protection lunch boxes, and degradable lunch boxes can only be biodegradable, the national standards have been photodegradable and photobiodegradable lunch boxes abolished, focusing on the safety and recyclable performance of the product.
