European PVC for CIS prices stable
Price negotiations for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for October delivery in Europe to the CIS market began last week, with most European producers negotiating on export prices for September, according to the latest ICIS-MRC price report.
It is understood that the contract price of ethylene in October has increased by 10 euros/ton in September, increasing the cost of PVC production by at least 5 euros/ton. However, in October, European producers announced the extension of the export price of PVC supplied to the CIS market in September, due to seasonal factors, the main consumer demand for PVC in the CIS countries is low, and the reported price has been reduced by 10 euros/ton. In addition, the demand for procurement in foreign markets is also small and often reduced to specific brands, in particular the K70 and K58. While some European factories are closing as planned, most producers have no obvious restrictions on exports.
The negotiated price of suspended PVC exported from Europe to the CIS market in October was 720~790 euros/ton, and the price last month was 730~790 euros/ton, maintaining a stable state.
