In January 2024, the "Spring Festival Visit to the Grassroots" report of the News Center of China Media Group was launched. In more than a month before and after the Spring Festival, local news departments linked reporters from various local stations to distant mountains and seas, and brought back vivid grassroots stories with one lens after another. A large number of heart-warming reports were launched in key columns and platforms such as "News Network", news channels and new media, which aroused the audience's empathy and resonance.

In early January, local news departments launched the collection of topics for 31 local stations in China to visit the grassroots. More than 30 topics stood out from nearly 200 topics. Dozens of reporters rushed to the front lines of production and construction of cities and villages, the borders of the motherland and major engineering projects, walked into the builders fighting in difficult areas and special industries, walked into the people in disaster areas affected by floods, blizzards and earthquakes, and walked into the railway, civil aviation, highway and other Spring Festival transportation industries to tell the steaming Chinese stories.

Among them, some went to the desolate Gobi Desert and Qinghai Mangya, which is surrounded by three uninhabited areas;

Some crossed the wind source of Xinjiang Maitas Wind Zone, known as the "Devil's Wind Head", to reach the border guard duty point;

Some went into the interior of the garbage incineration boiler, put on gas masks and followed the maintenance engineer to inspect the closed space;

During the Spring Festival, can the people in the disaster areas have a good year?

Reporters of the "New Year's Grassroots Visit" stayed in Gansu, Qinghai, Beijing and other places, spent the New Year with the people in the disaster areas, and sent back a lot of front-line observations in the disaster areas.

With vivid stories and solid interviews, the efforts of grassroots cadres in post-disaster reconstruction and the stories of the people rebuilding their homes and becoming self-reliant were shown.

Many people in the disaster areas said that they must bring a message to the General Secretary, saying that they had a warm Spring Festival this year, and asked the General Secretary to rest assured.

More than 30 reporters went to the front to conduct in-depth interviews, but how to present them brilliantly was a test for our rear team.

The "Morning News" column broadcast "Advance into the "Devil's Wind" and Visit the Border Guards' Snowy Border Patrol Road" for two consecutive days on February 3 and 4 tells the story of the border guards in Tacheng, Xinjiang, who protect the security of the motherland's borders on the China-Kazakhstan border, known as the "Devil's Wind".

It was the coldest day in Xinjiang in winter, with more than 6 meters of snow on the road, and the reporting team encountered windy and snowy weather. Traveling in the extremely low temperature of minus 30 degrees Celsius and strong winds, reporters Cui Ning and Cao Jiang experienced extreme cold, snowmobile rollovers and other dangers along the way, and arrived at the border guard duty point at the wind source of the Maitas wind zone, and set foot on the wind and snow patrol road with the border guards.
