How can hundreds of thousands of poor workers find jobs?

Xinhua News Agency, Changsha, May 1, Question: How can one hundred thousand poor labor find a job? -- Hunan Changde "stable employment" side note

Xinhua News Agency reporter Yuan Ruting

Under the epidemic situation, stable employment is to stabilize the rice bowl of tens of millions of families. The reporter recently interviewed Changde, Hunan Province, and learned that through online recruitment, nearby employment and voluntary delivery of workers, the local government has not only fought the epidemic, but also fought poverty, allowing more than 100,000 poor workers to find jobs.

Kou Changlin, a poor household in Tiebanzhou Village, Dazhigang Town, Anxiang County, Changde, Hunan Province, was recently admitted by a battery production company. With his father suffering from hearing impairment and his younger sister still studying, Kou's family is in a difficult situation. Not long ago, the village sent him an online recruitment leaflet, found out his job search needs, and helped him find a job through one-on-one employment guidance.

There are 79 people in 31 poor households in Anqing Yi Land poverty alleviation settlement in Dazhigang Town. The local poverty alleviation cadres organized the poor labor force to participate in online recruitment. At present, all 29 poor people who have the ability and willingness to work have stable employment. In Lixian County, Changde, the Lizhou Good Work App has provided more than 2,000 jobs, giving priority to poor laborers affected by the epidemic who have not been able to return to work.

Hu Fei is a registered poor household in Jinshan Village, Mengquan Town, Shimen County, with a family of four. His wife lost her labor force due to illness. In the past, the whole family only relied on their son to work for a living. Hu's family is an easy place to move out of poverty. Although they have been out of poverty, an epidemic has made it difficult to work and highlighted the hidden worry of returning to poverty. Fortunately, Hu also has a job -- the village committee hired him as the village cleaner, with a monthly salary of 1,000 yuan.

Liu Kangqing, deputy director of the Changde Poverty Alleviation Office, said that more than 10,000 public welfare jobs will be developed in Changde this year, including rural road maintenance, environmental cleaning, straw burning inspection, etc., in order to settle poor people into employment. Nearly 4,000 public welfare jobs have been developed so far.

In addition to the public welfare positions, the job opportunities are also in the poverty alleviation workshop. Zhu Lin first entered the poverty alleviation workshop of an electronics company and worked in the injection molding team. This is the "rice bowl" that the local government helps docking, and the average salary is more than 2,400 yuan a month.

In order to let more poor workers find jobs, all parts of Changde have made every effort to increase assistance and guidance to the poverty alleviation workshops that have resumed work. At present, all 83 poverty alleviation workshops in the city have resumed work, and more than 4,000 people have returned to work, including more than 1,000 poor workers.

Some people take the "rice bowl" at their doorsteps, while others take the "through train" to go far away.

"Takeaway brother" Xu Lin is a native of Shimen County, and also a poor family with a file card. He used to be a takeaway rider in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. Affected by the epidemic, some time ago, the train and bus from Shimen to Dongguan failed to open. Xu Lin, who should have returned to his post before March 1, was stuck at home, at a loss.

Shimen County Human Resources and Social Security Bureau organized a free bus for poor workers to return to Guangdong in time, and Xu Lin set off on March 12. "Although it is hard to be a rider, his monthly income is more than 5,000 yuan. When he can go back to work, he feels at ease." "Xu said.

Liu Kangqing told reporters that after the epidemic eased, all parts of Changde actively contacted foreign labor enterprises and launched special trains and chartered buses for workers. According to incomplete statistics, Changde organized special trains to transport more than 2,000 migrant workers, and organized "migrant workers through train" to help nearly 20,000 migrant workers return to work.

According to the statistics of the human resources and social security department of Changde, as of the end of April this year, the poor labor force in Changde has achieved employment of more than 100,000 people.
