How to reduce the wear degree of injection molding machine screw

Injection molding screw is the core part of injection molding machine, and the screw for a long time to work in high temperature, high pressure, high mechanical torque and high friction environment, wear problem is inevitable, general screw have been surface nitriding treatment, In order to improve the surface hardness, that is, improve the anti-wear ability.

But if you ignore the cause of wear, do not try to reduce the wear as much as possible, it will greatly reduce the working life of the screw.

1, injection molding raw material temperature setting: each plastic, there is an ideal plasticizing processing temperature range, should control the cylinder processing temperature, so that it is close to this temperature range.

Granular plastic from the hopper into the barrel, will first reach the feeding section, in the feeding section will inevitably appear dry friction, when these plastics are not heated enough, melting uneven, it is easy to cause the inner wall of the barrel and screw surface wear increase.

Similarly, in the compression section and the homogenization section, if the melting state of the plastic is unbalanced, it will also cause wear to increase.

2, the setting of screw speed: due to some plastics with strengthening agents, such as glass fiber, minerals or other fillers. The friction force of these substances on metal materials is often much larger than that of molten plastic.

When injection molding these plastics, if the high speed is used, it will increase the shear force on the plastic at the same time, it will also strengthen the corresponding more torn fibers, torn fibers contain sharp ends, so that the wear force is greatly increased. When inorganic minerals slide at high speed on the surface of the metal, the scraping effect is not small. Therefore, the speed should not be adjusted too high.

3, debris in plastic: The production of pure raw materials may be relatively less risky, but now the enterprise in order to reduce costs, generally in the raw material doping some nozzle material, due to some on-site management reasons, nozzle material in the crushing time is easy to mix some small metal chips, this is very harmful to the screw, so generally in the cylinder installation of magnet rack, strict feeding management and monitoring.
