In addition, takeaways in the catering industry (other than containers used for unconsumed food or drink in sit-down meals) and other service trades are also required to charge for the supply of plastic bags if the goods are provided to customers by retail means.

In addition, within the first 2 years after the law comes into effect, retail establishments are required by law to display in a conspicuous place, approved by the Macao Environmental Protection Bureau, promotional materials regarding the provision of plastic bags for a fee.
