To welcome the coming Year of the Dragon, these exquisitely woven bamboo lanterns are decorated with lifelike paper-cuts in the shape of the dragon. The whole village is decorated with the flavor of the New Year. And in the bamboo lantern factory not far from the village, the reporter saw that workers are stepping up to make New Year orders. The person in charge told the reporter that so far this year, their orders have increased by more than 60% over the same period last year.

These bamboo lanterns are all raw materials bamboo from Qingshen County local. Qingshen County is located in the hills, surrounded by mountains to nourish hundreds of thousands of acres of bamboo forests. These days, in Tianchi village, the highest elevation in Qingshen County, the lush bamboo trees are in harvest season, and farmers are hurrying to pick fresh bamboo.

Before planting bamboo, Zheng Kaichun supported his family mainly as migrant workers, earning only 10,000 yuan a year. Later, Qingshen County encouraged villagers to plant bamboo, giving them free training in planting techniques and giving them subsidies for planting bamboo. Zheng Kaichun became one of the earliest bamboo farmers in his village, planting all the 20 mu of barren land on the slopes of his home. Over the years, Zheng Kaichun contracted bamboo forest area has reached more than 80 mu, the annual income of more than 100,000 yuan, several times more than in the past.

People are willing to plant, because many enterprises grab the harvest. In a local new material production enterprise, the reporter saw that the workshop is running at full power to seize the production, all production processes and equipment are intelligent control, tons of bamboo slices with the line to move, through the cooking tower and other procedures into a piece of bamboo fiber pulp board. The enterprise has independently developed a special bamboo fiber extraction process, which can largely retain the natural components in bamboo. A pack of paper towels created by this process has more than 50 patented technologies. And through this production line with the highest degree of automation of pulping machinery in China, the original bamboo of 620 yuan per ton has become bamboo paper of 10,000 yuan per ton through pulping processing, which has increased in value by 16 times.

For a long time, the traditional agricultural plastic mulch is a serious problem that causes rural land pollution. In Qingshen County, bamboo has been integrated into every aspect of local life. It is not only made into tableware, lamps, furniture and other daily necessities, but also exported to overseas as bamboo knitting, calligraphy and painting and other handicrafts. Here, the "bamboo dragon dance" has been performed during the Spring Festival for more than 30 years.
