Marine plastic waste pollution: Turtles who accidentally eat plastic face life threats

Large amounts of plastic waste, such as food containers, beverage bottles and shopping bags, accumulate in the sea water, and turtles will mistake these plastic waste for jellyfish, which often happens. Plastic waste is known to clog turtles' bodies and accumulate until they burst. Some turtles are so distressed that they have to stop eating and starve to death. Some even become too buoyant to dive into the sea because their bodies are so full of plastic waste.
