Recently, Nanjing Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision commissioned the municipal food-related product certified production enterprises to carry out special supervision and random inspection. This time a total of 93 batches of samples produced by 83 enterprises were checked. Among them, 72 batches of plastic products used for food contact were inspected, and 68 batches were qualified, with a pass rate of 94.44 percent.

The supervision and random inspection of plastic products for food contact is based on GB 4806.7-2016 "National Food Safety Standard for food contact plastic materials and products", GB 9683-1988 "Hygienic standard for composite food Packaging bags", GB/T 10004-2008 "Plastic composite film and bag for packaging Dry composite, extrusion composite and related enterprise standards and other products specific test items are: Sensory, total migration, evaporation residue, potassium permanganate consumption, heavy metals (measured by Pb), antimony (measured by Sb), decolorization test, phenol, formaldehyde monomer migration, toluene diamine, total solvent residue, benzene solvent residue, acetaldehyde content, total colony, coliform, pathogenic bacteria, mold, barrier performance (oxygen), barrier performance (water vapor), heat sealing strength. The unqualified items are the total migration (4% acetic acid), evaporation residue (n-hexane), potassium permanganate consumption, oxygen transmission and water vapor transmission.
