The plasticizers may reduce male fertility, trigger hormonal imbalances and possibly lead to early puberty in children. Dong Jinshi said that while colored mooncake trays are generally unsafe, white and transparent ones are safer because they are not made of recycled plastic. Because recycled plastic after each "furnace" will become more impurities, the color will be dimmed. According to this, it can be roughly judged that the risk of plasticizer in transparent or light-colored plastic is smaller, "the darker the color, the greater the suspicion." Consumers can put the mooncake in front of the light and the sun to check, if there are obvious impurities in the mooncake tray, black spots, uneven color is likely to be recycled plastic, smell odor is also very dangerous.
