P&G China Sustainable Development Goals and Progress Release
This year, P&G exhibited its sustainable development concept from product research and development, production, packaging, transportation, consumer use and recycling on the two sustainable development walls surrounding the booth, from "responsible production", "responsible sales" and "responsible consumption".
Xu Youjie, Chief Sustainability Officer and Vice President of Communications and Public Relations of P&G Greater China, said, "We believe in the power of 'having both', which is the responsibility that P&G must bear as a company. Our products must not only meet the needs of consumers, but also not burden the earth. Our operations must be both efficient and protect the earth's limited resources. Only when the earth is evergreen can the company be evergreen."
Update goals and accelerate the construction of a sustainable future
P&G announced the "Mission 2030" and "Net Zero 2040" China Sustainable Development Goals at the CIIE in the past two years. By focusing on the three key challenges of climate change, waste and water resources, P&G China's "Mission 2030" Sustainable Development Goals will be integrated into top brands, global supply chains, communities and employees to achieve the scale effect of sustainable development and make our home planet a better place. On this basis, P&G is also constantly improving and updating its goals to accelerate its pace on the road to sustainable development.
At the event, P&G officially released the updated "Mission 2030" Sustainable Development Goals, adding the strategic focus of the natural field, taking a step further towards a sustainable future.
Overview of the latest goals of P&G Mission 2030
Xu Youjie said: "From operations, supply chain to community services, from climate, waste, water to nature, P&G is constantly expanding the scope of "responsibility". At the same time, from the 10-year plan to the 20-year vision, it is also constantly strengthening the foresight of its responsibility as a global citizen. Greater responsibility and longer-term considerations come from P&G's deep concern for people and the environment in its development."
Update progress and work together to build a better home for the earth
At the event, Xu Youjie also announced to the public the important progress that P&G has made in multiple links and fields under the sustainable development goals in the past year through innovation and cooperation.
In terms of climate, while actively promoting the implementation of nature-based solutions to address climate change, many P&G factories in China have achieved 100% renewable energy; in terms of water resources, P&G's three major factories in China have achieved a 35% increase in water resource utilization ahead of schedule, among which the water recycling rate of the Taicang factory has reached 100%. In terms of waste, P&G's e-commerce direct packaging of Big Green Treasure and Little Green Treasure saved more than 10,000 tons of paper throughout the year. P&G is also working with the industry to establish a clear Chinese recycling standard - the Double Easy Recycling Standard.
P&G has been accelerating the process of intelligent and automated supply chains and guiding the supply chain to transform towards green and sustainable development through its deep insight into Chinese consumers over the years. At the event, Tan Huiming, general manager of P&G's Taicang plant, shared with everyone the latest progress of P&G's supply chain. He mentioned that P&G's eight factories in China are pursuing a win-win situation between product manufacturing and environmental protection. Among them, the Taicang plant has used 100% green wind power generation since its establishment. Not only that, the Taicang plant has taken the lead in achieving zero discharge of factory wastewater by adopting measures such as industrial wastewater purification, condensate reuse and advanced sewage treatment technology.
In response to the rapidly developing e-commerce business and diversified and personalized consumer needs, P&G is also actively promoting the upgrading and innovation of the e-commerce supply chain, further realizing that there is only one express delivery distance from the end of the production line to the hands of consumers. In terms of e-commerce packaging, the first innovative e-commerce packaging "Air Capsule" that was first certified by the Double Easy and launched at the CIIE last year, after being put into use, 94% of consumers believe that its opening experience is better than the previous e-commerce packaging.

Not only does it add recycled plastic PCR to the materials used in production, but it also brings solutions suitable for different industries and products. At the scene, P&G also announced the first cooperative enterprise of "Air Capsule"-Thermos China, which means that "Air Capsule" will help more companies and brands apply sustainable and innovative green e-commerce packaging and jointly build a recycling and reuse network.
