The Ministry of Environmental Protection was blocked from investigating the cause of pollution in Shijiazhuang
Beijing, November 13 (China Youth Daily ¡¤ Youth online reporter Liu Shixin) Since the autumn, due to the PM2.5 concentration has been hovering at a high level, Shijiazhuang has become the most polluted city in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. However, when the Ministry of Environmental Protection urgently sent an inspection team to investigate the cause of the pollution there, it encountered obstacles from enterprises. Data from the China Environmental Monitoring Station show that Shijiazhuang has been the most polluted city in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region since Oct. 1, with the average PM2.5 concentration about 18 percent higher than the second heaviest city Baoding and nearly 60 percent higher than the average of 13 cities in the region, an MEP official said today.
In order to find out the cause, the Ministry of Environmental Protection sent three inspection teams to Shijiazhuang, Cangzhou, Hengshui and other cities in Hebei Province to carry out special inspections. The inspection team in Dingzhou Huamao cement brick factory inspection encountered obstruction from the head of the enterprise.
The inspection team found that the enterprise did not stop production in accordance with the requirements of the emergency plan, cement tanker frequent access to the factory, the production link is not organized serious emissions, insufficient dust suppression measures, the road on both sides of the factory gate dust is very serious. At present, the person in charge of the enterprise has been criminally detained.
In addition, the inspection team also found that the small plastic industry in Xingtang County of Shijiazhuang City is dense, some small enterprises have no dust removal measures for fine particle crushing machinery, the phenomenon of black smoke is prominent, and the circulating water of the coarse particle crushing link is "running and dripping" seriously. There are also several small plastic workshops in the local area without any environmental protection facilities.
In addition to the excessive pollution of enterprises, the burning of garbage and straw in Shijiazhuang and its surrounding areas is a prominent problem.
