Recently, Shenyang Chemical Industry and Beijing University of Chemical Technology jointly established China's first school-enterprise joint research and development center of PVC polymerization process in Shenyang Chemical Industry. The joint research and development center will through the model of close integration of production, education and research, gather the advantages of both sides of the resources, for the key technical problems of PVC paste resin to tackle, accelerate the pace of scientific and technological achievements in the field of PVC paste resin from the laboratory to the production line, and promote and accelerate the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements. The joint R & D center will also provide an important practice platform for Liaoning Province to train more high-end chemical talents, enhance Liaoning Province's scientific research capacity and talent reserve in the chemical industry, and provide strong intellectual support for local economic development.

PVC is one of the general-purpose plastics with the largest output in the world and is widely used. Shenyang Chemical is the first enterprise in China with 10,000 tons of paste resin production equipment, and the first to successfully put the self-developed paste resin new brand products into industrial production. At present, the paste resin production capacity of Shenyang Chemical has reached 200,000 tons/year, becoming the largest PVC paste resin producer in Asia and one of the leading enterprises in China's paste resin industry.
