Tropical Cyclone Fani hits eastern India, killing 29 people

Earlier reports said that the death toll was 12.
The Indian government has reportedly launched a massive reconstruction effort in 10,000 villages and 52 urban areas affected by Fani. Odisha Chief Minister NaveenPatnaik on Friday announced relief packages, including cash, rice and plastic sheeting, for the affected Indians.
After passing through Odisha, "Fani" began to move north along India's east coast into Bangladesh, where 14 people have been killed by "Fani".
Experts say Fani is one of the most destructive tropical cyclones to hit India in 20 years and the strongest cyclone to hit Orissa since 2014.
