Beijing, June 2 (Xinhua) -- The Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) has found a number of unreported "scattered and dirty" enterprise clusters, according to the latest inspection results of the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP).

From May 26 to June 1, is the Ministry of Environmental Protection to carry out the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas of air pollution prevention and control of the seventh week, but also the fourth round of intensified supervision of the first week.

According to statistics, from May 26 to June 1, 23 inspection teams inspected a total of 2,459 enterprises (units), and found that 1,954 enterprises had various environmental problems. Among the enterprises with problems, there were 735 "scattered and dirty" enterprises, including 564 newly discovered "scattered and dirty" enterprises outside the list, and a number of newly discovered "scattered and dirty" enterprise clusters that had not been reported. For example, 11 "scattered pollution" metal processing enterprises were found in Fengrun District of Tangshan City, Hebei province, all of which did not handle environmental protection procedures, were not equipped with waste gas collection and treatment facilities, and were seriously disorganized by open-air cutting and painting.

In the inspection, it was found that some places still exist the phenomenon of concealing "scattered pollution" enterprises. The inspection team in the Pingyuan county of Dezhou City, Shandong Province, Encheng town blacksmith village inspection found that there are 17 wood processing enterprises in the village, no environmental procedures, no cut off water and power, production equipment, raw materials and products are not cleaned up, only 2 in the local report of "scattered pollution" enterprises list.

In addition, some enterprises tore the seal and illegally produced. When the inspection team inspected Wucheng Health Plastic Industry Co., Ltd. in Wucheng County, Dezhou City, Shandong Province, it was found that the local government affixed a seal to the company's general electric gate on May 22, 2017, although the factory did not produce when the inspection team inspected the site, but the general electric gate seal was torn, and four plastic injection molding machines had waste heat, suspected of illegal production.

The above problems, the inspection team has been timely handed over to the local environmental protection department for further investigation and treatment. The Ministry of Environmental Protection stressed that the "scattered pollution" cluster rectification is the focus of strengthening supervision at the current stage, and governments at all levels must grasp the key points, crack the difficulties, cover the blind spots, innovate ways and methods to ensure that the "scattered pollution" enterprises clean up and rectify the responsibility in place, measures in place, and remediation in place.
