five Norwegian companies formed a delegation to participate in the China Environment Expo for the first time

The Consulate General of the Kingdom of Norway in Shanghai, Innovation Norway, together with Cambi (Cambi), Tomra (Tomra), Doscon (Doscon), Orkel (Orkel) and JohnsenChemicals (JohnsenChemicals), a total of five enterprises in the field of environmental technology participated in the Expo for the first time in the name of the state. To enhance the communication and mutual understanding between Norwegian enterprises and Chinese environmental protection industry.

Norwegian Consul General in Shanghai Lisa (LiseNordgaard) said in an interview with CCTV network reporter that the World Expo as an influential exhibition, gathered from 27 countries and regions around the world, more than 2,000 environmental protection companies participated in the exhibition, for Norway, which is at the forefront of environmental protection innovation, has a strong appeal.

Lisa said that Norwegian enterprises have advantages in the fields of water and air pollution control, waste management, clean energy and low-carbon society construction. In recent years, in order to achieve the "3060" double carbon target and improve the ecological environment, China has made new achievements in ecological and environmental protection management, which not only provides a broad space for cooperation between China and Norway in the field of environmental protection, but also provides more opportunities for cooperation and exchanges between Chinese and Norwegian enterprises.

Lisa said that Norway attaches great importance to sustainable development, and by prioritizing sustainability, innovation and cooperation, Norway has proved that economic prosperity and environmental sustainability can co-exist. Norway's commitment to reduce its carbon emissions by at least 50 percent from 1990 levels by 2030, reaching 55 percent, will be a key step towards Norway's goal of a low carbon emitting society by 2050. Norway promotes a circular economy to reduce plastic consumption and has developed a set of measures to reduce plastic consumption. In 2020, Norway became the first country to officially ban the use of fossil fuels for heating in existing and new buildings. In 2021, the Norwegian government unveiled a ten-year climate action plan to meet the climate targets set out in the Paris Agreement and announced a future focus on promoting green growth in areas such as offshore floating wind power, hydrogen, electric vehicles and carbon capture and storage. In 2023, the market share of electric vehicles hit an all-time high of more than 80%. China and Norway have maintained dialogue, communication and cooperation in the field of ecological and environmental protection at all levels of government, which will also provide cooperation space and development opportunities for Chinese enterprises in the field of ecological and environmental protection.

It is reported that in this Expo, Doscon signed a cooperation agreement with Shandong Environmental Protection Scientific Research and Design Institute Co., LTD., and will carry out the application of green environmental protection technology in water treatment industry and other fields in the future.
