Functional masterbatch refers to the concentrate of various plastic additives. It is not easy to disperse the additives directly, and the use efficiency is not high, so it is often added in the form of masterbatch.
Particle size: Granular solids composed of particles with a particle size of 0.1~3mm are powdered solids. 0.1mm (100¦Ìm) is a powder composed of microparticles; 1~10¦Ìm is a fine powder; 0.1~1¦Ìm is an ultrafine powder; >3mm particles are broken solid blocks. The smaller the particle size, the denser the mixture. However, the smaller the particle size of the same solid, the easier it is for the particles to adsorb and agglomerate with each other. This agglomeration is not easy to open when mixed with another solid particle, and it is also difficult to disperse in the plastic melt.
Particle size distribution: Powders with a wide particle size distribution have denser filling properties than those with a narrow particle size distribution. Because small particles can enter the gaps between large particles, it is difficult to mix two powders with large particle sizes.
Hardness of functional masterbatch: Powdered particles with too high hardness - ceramic powder, inorganic antibacterial agent, quartz sand, etc. will cause serious wear on the surface of the mixing equipment, which will not only reduce the service life of the equipment, but also make the mixture dark and gray, and even turn black in severe cases.
Main components of filling masterbatch:
1). Filler: such as calcium carbonate. Talc, etc.
2). Coupling agent: such as carbonate silane, etc.
3). Dispersant: such as polyethylene wax and stearate.
4). Carrier resin.
Hygroscopic defoaming masterbatch
Hygroscopic defoaming masterbatch is composed of metal oxide + resin + additives.
Flame retardant masterbatch
Flame retardant masterbatch is composed of flame retardant + resin + additives.
Conductive masterbatch
Conductive masterbatch is made by coating and pelletizing long copper fibers and resin.
Foaming masterbatch
Foaming masterbatch is composed of composite foaming agent, lubricant, dispersant and colorant.
Anti-ultraviolet masterbatch
Anti-ultraviolet masterbatch is made by compounding two kinds of anti-ultraviolet agents and adding carrier, dispersant and other additives.
Weathering masterbatch
Weathering masterbatch is composed of light stabilizer + resin + additives.
Cooling masterbatch
It is mainly used for PP and can reduce the temperature by about 30-50 degrees.
Brightening masterbatch
Brightening masterbatch is also called bright masterbatch. Its purpose is to improve the brightness of the product. Its main brightener is ethylene bis stearamide. The general color masterbatch dosage is 20%-30%, and the product is 0.2%-0.3%. Too much will affect the printing effect of the product.
During the production of enhanced masterbatch, sometimes the material is easy to accumulate at the feeding port, which is mainly caused by the air entrained by talcum powder. During production, it should be heated and stirred to melt the wax, wet talcum powder or add white mineral oil.
Hygroscopic defoaming masterbatch
Hygroscopic defoaming masterbatch can mainly remove the moisture and unknown low-molecular volatiles contained in the plastic, so that the plastic products are free of water and bubbles, so that the drying process can be reduced while ensuring the quality of the product.
Flame retardant masterbatch
Flame retardant masterbatch is mainly used in flame retardant modification occasions,
Foaming masterbatch
Foaming masterbatch is commonly used in PE, PP, EVA, etc.
