The temperature control system of the extruder is to make the plastic reach the temperature during normal operation and maintain the required temperature under normal conditions. The heating and cooling devices are important components of the temperature control system. Whether their design is reasonable will affect the production capacity, product quality and energy consumption of the extruder. The heating part of the extruder is mainly at the machine shell, and the heating is mainly electric heating, such as resistance heating and induction heating. The temperature of the extruder is measured by a thermocouple temperature sensor, and the temperature is controlled by proportional integral differential regulation.

There are many cooling parts in the extruder, such as the barrel, hopper seat, screw and other parts. The barrel is cooled by air cooling and medium cooling, which generally needs to be coordinated with heating. Air cooling is to use a blower installed outside the barrel to generate forced air cooling. The cooling heat conduction rate of this method is small, soft, uniform and clean, and the gasket on the outer surface of the heater or between the heaters has little effect on the installation of the air cooling device. Water cooling is often used for medium cooling. Compared with air cooling, water cooling is faster, smaller in size and lower in cost, but it is easy to cause rapid cooling. At the same time, in order to prevent scale formation from affecting the cooling effect, softened water is generally used.
