In the past 7 years, through green prevention and control technology, Beijing has reduced the use of pesticides by 59.7 tons.

It is reported that with the continuous improvement of forest coverage in Beijing, the pressure of forest pest prevention and control has gradually increased, and there are nearly 100 kinds of pests threatening forest resources. Zhu Shaowen, head of the Beijing Forestry Protection Station, said that in the past, the prevention and control of pests and diseases mainly depended on spraying pesticides. In order to reduce the side effects of pesticides on the environment, Beijing has intensified comprehensive prevention and control efforts throughout the city in recent years. Through forest management measures, ecological regulation, artificial and physical control, biological control and protection and use of natural enemies, etc., the sustainable disaster control ability of forests has been improved. At present, the green prevention and control technology has been demonstrated and promoted in seven major parks in Tongzhou, Fengtai, Haidian, Changping, Mentougou, Fangshan and Yanqing, and good prevention and control results have been achieved.

It is understood that according to the species of trees and the occurrence of pests, the garden department has adopted a variety of green technologies to prevent and control forestry pests. For example, wrapping plastic tape on the tree trunk to block grass and spring inchworm, hanging black light to trap American white moth and national locust inchworm and other adult insects, hanging yellow green board to trap and kill ash and aphid, release harladybug adults and eggs to control aphids and other insects, release Zhou's rodents to control American moth and other lepidoptera pests.

In the past 7 years, through green prevention and control technology, Beijing has reduced the use of pesticides by 59.7 tons. By the end of the "12th Five-Year Plan", the accuracy rate of forest pest detection and reporting in the city was as high as 95.16%, and the disaster rate was only 0.03‰ .
