President Xi Jinping sent a letter to the 6th China International Import Expo, pointing out that he hopes that the CIIE will accelerate the window function of building a new development pattern, provide new opportunities for the world with China's new development; give full play to the platform role of promoting high-level opening up, and make China's large market a large market shared by the world; better provide international public goods and services shared by the world, help promote the construction of an open world economy, and let win-win cooperation benefit the world.

The 6th China International Import Expo opened in Shanghai on the 5th, with new products, new technologies and new services on display. Enterprises actively participated in the exhibition, and each exhibition area had highlights. The reporter walked into the exhibition hall to explore the highlights of the first day of the opening of the CIIE.

Automobile Exhibition Area--

Green tires become a reality, and low-altitude flights have many highlights

Reporter Shen Wenmin Tian Hong

The first hybrid version of the famous American sports car Corvette, Chevrolet full-size pure electric pickup truck, and Mercedes-Benz off-road motorhome tailored for the Chinese market, the automobile exhibition area ushered in many new products this year. In the exhibition area of about 30,000 square meters, more than half of the participating automakers are from the Fortune 500, and new energy vehicles account for about 70% of the vehicle display section.

Xijing Technology Hong Kong Company participated in the exhibition for the first time this year and brought two star products-full-time unmanned new energy commercial vehicles and new energy unmanned tractors. By building digital green solutions, Xijing Technology provides products and services to more than 160 users in 18 countries and regions to help them reduce energy waste.

In addition to vehicle manufacturers, this CIIE also attracted the latest products and technologies from upstream and downstream industries. Michelin Asia's first "green tire"-the sustainable materials used accounted for 63%, including carbon black recycled from natural rubber and waste tires, steel recycled from scrap steel, and bio-based materials recycled from rice husks, orange peels, lemon peels, and rosin.

I didn't expect that the rice husk extract, which feels crispy to the touch, can be used to produce tough tires. This tire has been adapted to hydrogen fuel prototype racing cars and Porsche electric racing cars. "Green makes future travel better." Michelin staff introduced that their goal is to achieve an average sustainable material ratio of 40% for all product line tires by 2030; by 2050, all tires will be 100% produced with bio-based, renewable and recyclable materials.

In the "Future Travel" area of the automobile exhibition area, a 2-ton electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft M1, known as the "air taxi", appeared. This is a joint exhibition by Yufeng Future, a Chinese low-altitude travel company, and related foreign companies, providing solutions for future low-altitude three-dimensional transportation. "M1 made its first successful flight not long ago. This is the first time that the real M1 has been shown to the public." The staff introduced. The model has a wingspan of 15 meters, a fuselage length of 10 meters, a height of 3 meters, a composite wing configuration, uses pure electric power, a designed range of 250 kilometers, a maximum load of 500 kilograms, and can carry 5 people.

Food and agricultural products exhibition area--

Use high technology to choose more diverse

Reporter Ji Jue, Su Tianhong, Cao Lingjuan

In the food and agricultural products exhibition area of the 6th CIIE, there is a large "cheese cow", 1.76 meters long, 1.01 meters high and 0.71 meters wide. It comes from Baolisi, a cheese brand of Meike Lando under Mengniu Group.

It is reported that this "cheese cow" uses 400 kilograms of cheddar cheese, which is carved by 20 craftsmen for 72 hours and then cooled for 48 hours to shape. The weight is equivalent to more than 22,000 18-gram cheese sticks.

In the "Global Food Integrated Distribution Platform" of Bright Food Group, another "cow"-"Orange Wagyu" is also eye-catching, and the aroma of Wagyu beef cooked on site is everywhere. This is the Wagyu beef introduced by Bright Food Group from the Australian ranch. It is fed with feed added with fresh orange pulp, which makes the taste of Wagyu beef more delicious and delicate.

The food and agricultural products exhibition area is fun, delicious, beautiful and creative. At the Philippine booth, there is an olive tree from Italy, and the production equipment model next to it shows the entire production process of olive oil. And New Zealand New Zealand Fresh Milk moved a 50-square-meter real turf to the exhibition site.

Food companies also use high technology. The real-time management and analysis platform for professional farms, small three-dimensional planting machines suitable for family planting, and water-saving and drought-resistant rice that can save 50% of water resources and 30% of fertilizers make the food and agricultural products exhibition area full of technology.

Adamon from Benin, holding his own product - a shea butter hand cream, enthusiastically gave it to the audience for trial. The food and agricultural products exhibition area gathered many corporate booths from the countries that jointly built the "Belt and Road Initiative", and many companies participated in the CIIE for the first time. Although there was only one corporate representative and translator, the popularity in front of the booth did not decrease. "The Chinese market is big enough, and niche products can also have a place as long as they have their own characteristics." Adamon is full of confidence.

This year's food and agricultural products exhibition area also specially set up a "Small and Medium Enterprises Trade Matchmaking Area" to facilitate professional buyers from e-commerce, supermarkets, catering and other channels to find more business opportunities.

Consumer Products Exhibition Area--

More new consumer products and better consumer experience

Reporters Fang Min and Cao Lingjuan

When I came to the consumer products exhibition area, I smelled the aroma of coffee as soon as I approached the coffee machine booth of the Italian Delonghi Group. The staff was operating a new type of coffee machine, with a touch color screen, Chinese interface, and exclusive menu. These highlights were well received by the audience.

The staff poured a bag of coffee beans, and there was no need to manually adjust the parameters. The coffee machine automatically adapted the extraction parameters according to the properties of the coffee beans. In less than a minute, a cup of coffee was served. "Delong Group has participated in the exhibition for many consecutive years, and this year it has brought many new products." Jin Mingzhi, channel marketing manager of Delong Electric Appliances, said, "Currently in China, Delong's household coffee machines have a market share of more than 30%."

The CIIE continues to turn exhibits into commodities, and corporate trade is getting bigger and bigger. Uniqlo showcases a clothing rebirth workshop, Burberry launches a new winter series of products, and BSH Home Appliances brings an artificial intelligence steam oven...

More than 500 companies from 76 countries and regions participated in the consumer goods exhibition area of this CIIE. Among them, 57 Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders, and the dazzling array of products brought a richer consumer experience. "We are very happy to participate in the CIIE for many consecutive years. The CIIE provides us with a valuable platform for win-win cooperation." Zhang Yunxin, head of Burberry China, said.

The CIIE platform allows more good products to enter thousands of households. Many exhibitors have discovered a larger market from the CIIE, and have also brought more new consumer products to China.

Medical Devices and Healthcare Exhibition Area--

Technological innovation helps product iteration and upgrade

Reporter Jiang Hongbing and Xie Weiqun

In the medical devices and healthcare exhibition area of the 6th CIIE, medical devices that embody cutting-edge new technologies have attracted much attention.

This year, Abbott brought the "Dual-chamber Implantable Leadless Cardiac Pacemaker System", which was approved for sale in the United States in July this year and debuted at the CIIE four months later, completing its Asian debut.

This is the world's first and currently the only dual-chamber leadless pacing system that implants devices in the right atrium and right ventricle respectively. How do two tiny pacemakers work together after being implanted in the two chambers of the heart through minimally invasive surgery? "Relying on Abbott's unique high-frequency communication technology, they can achieve interconnected communication and synchronous dual-chamber wireless pacing." Zhang Yan, a relevant person in charge of Abbott, said that this system is used to treat bradycardia and can be removed through a special recovery catheter when necessary, which can flexibly meet the implantation treatment needs of patients at different stages.

For patients with advanced heart failure, Abbott also brought the world's first approved "artificial heart" using full magnetic levitation technology - an implantable left ventricular assist system to help patients restore their heart's pumping function and improve their physical function and quality of life.

Medtronic's "world's smallest pacemaker" without leads has participated in the CIIE for five consecutive years. This year's new generation of upgraded products is completely unchanged in size and weight. By reducing chip energy consumption and improving battery performance, the service life is extended by 40%, and it can work in the human body for up to nearly 17 years. At the same time, it is equipped with smarter algorithms and is expected to achieve higher implant safety.

The booth of Edwards Lifesciences in California, USA, exhibited "high-tech" medical products: on one side are intensive care instruments, and on the other side are heart valves and catheters for the treatment of structural heart disease. Edwards has developed the only balloon-expandable transcatheter aortic valve system approved for marketing in China. The product was unveiled at the CIIE in 2020 and has been implemented in 107 medical institutions in 26 provinces. This year, Edwards exhibited its "upgraded" transcatheter heart valve in China for the first time. From the outside, the shape is slightly different, but it has achieved "dry storage" - no need to use special solutions, it can be transported and stored in ordinary packaging boxes, and the service life is longer.

Service Trade Exhibition Area--

Invisible Exhibits Visible Services

Reporter Xie Weiqun, Ju Yunpeng, Lin Ziye

The Service Trade Exhibition Area is known as the "invisible exhibits" exhibition area of the CIIE. Most of them are various services and solutions, but they still attract many visitors to watch.

How to implement the ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) concept at the corporate management level? In the EY exhibition area, the digital technology product-"EY ESG Handheld Application Digital Intelligence" attracted everyone's attention. This is an enterprise-level handheld digital tool launched by EY in accordance with the ESG concept.

It is like an APP. When you open the page, you can generate a carbon report by filling in relevant information according to a series of dimensions and indicators to serve corporate decision-making. "A good ESG management system not only promotes corporate digitalization and green and low-carbon technologies, but also improves the innovation and competitiveness of enterprises." said Li Jing, director of EY's ESG Management Office.

On the mobile side, Shuzhitong supports reporting and management under various guidance standards; on the PC side, Shuzhitong is equipped with a powerful management system and mapping mode, which is interconnected with the mobile side.

Kuei & Nagel, a leading international logistics and supply chain management company, is participating in the CIIE for the sixth time, and its booth area has expanded by a full 3 times compared to its first exhibition. "This year we have brought a number of logistics solutions such as battery logistics, aircraft engine logistics, and semiconductor product logistics to provide two-way supply chain services for cross-border trade." said Ni Xiaorong, head of Kuehne & Nagel's China business.

Come to the booth of SGS (Swiss General Notary Company), a third-party testing company, and walk into the silent cabin that has obtained the ultra-quiet gold label certification. The sound in the venue is instantly isolated from the outside; on the display sand table of oil online monitoring services, miniature mines, power plants, wind turbines and other shapes show the application of the system in multiple fields...

SGS has been deeply involved in the Chinese market for 32 years, and this year is the fifth time to participate in the CIIE. "We focus on themes such as green and low-carbon, artificial intelligence, and authoritative certification, and demonstrate professional service capabilities covering multiple industries. We hope to work with more partners to move towards a sustainable future." A relevant person in charge of SGS said.

Technology and Equipment Exhibition Area--

Focus on low-carbon transformation and pay attention to cutting-edge exploration

Reporter Ji Juesu Huang Xiaohui

At the booth of German Schott, a manufacturer of special materials, an amber-colored exhibit that looks like a ring of jade "lying" in a glass cover attracted many visitors. The starry sky pattern and spacecraft model above the exhibit tell the audience that this glass product is inseparable from space exploration.

Wu Min, head of the relevant business of Schott's Advanced Optics Division, said that the mirror of an optical astronomical telescope is the most important component for capturing cosmic light, so it is called the "retina of an astronomical telescope". The larger the size, the more light it captures, and the requirements for mirror stability are extremely stringent.

A month ago, Schott polished this exhibit in a 1:10 scale of the astronomical telescope mirror and sent it to Shanghai for the CIIE. Although this exhibit is only a few dozen centimeters wide, it is very valuable. "This is the first time we have exhibited the latest technologies in astronomy and aerospace at the CIIE. We hope to use the influence of the exhibition to work with relevant parties to promote the development of basic science." Wu Min said.

Walking through the exhibition area, low-carbon transformation and green buildings have become keywords. German chemical company Henkel exhibited consumer product packaging, of which the proportion of recyclable plastics accounted for about 16%, and it is expected to increase to more than 30% by 2025. Grundfos has proposed a series of new solutions to reduce energy consumption in commercial buildings. Plansee, a company engaged in the research and development of high-performance materials in the field of powder metallurgy, will release a platinum potassium target material to improve the efficiency of solar power generation and bring solar cells composed of multi-layer thin films. Compared with traditional silicon-based solar cells, this solar cell has higher efficiency and smaller size.
