Fire breaks out at Sydney's suburban recycling centre, no casualties reported
Beijing, Feb. 23, according to foreign media reports, 23 local time, Australia's largest city Sydney in the western suburbs of a garbage recycling center fire, billowing smoke rose into the sky, from 20 kilometers away from downtown Sydney can be seen.
According to reports, the New South Wales fire and Rescue Department said that the fire occurred at 9:00 a.m. local time on the same day, more than 100 firefighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire, nearby residents and factory personnel have been evacuated.
At present, no casualties have been reported. Authorities have not said what caused the fire.
Reports said the building where the fire broke out at the recycling center was filled with carpet, plastic and paper. Some of the liquefied gas tanks stored at the recycling center were being treated for cooling.
