First-hand experience of building a "zero-waste city" in Suqian, Jiangsu

At present, the company can recycle and treat 250,000 tons of waste lead batteries annually, and produce about 170,000 tons of recycled lead, 14,000 tons of ABS plastic and 24,000 tons of refined sulfuric acid. Tianneng is expected to achieve output value of 3 billion yuan this year.
Six 20-meter-high white reaction tanks stand out on the wide grass northwest of Wangguai village, Weiying Town, Sihong County. This is the site of the Green Island project of Sihong's livestock manure recycling. Project leader Zhang Renqiu told reporters that after the separation of livestock and poultry manure by solid and liquid, through the anaerobic fermentation process, the biogas residue produced can be used to produce compost and organic fertilizer, and the biogas slurry is returned to the field after treatment, realizing the two-way income increase of livestock and poultry breeding and crop planting.

In addition to fertilizer reuse, livestock and poultry manure can also realize energy "regeneration". At present, there are 906 livestock and poultry farms in Sihong County, which produce more than 1.8 million tons of livestock and poultry manure annually. "The biogas produced can be used to generate electricity at a certain concentration. We are laying out relevant power infrastructure in the county's agricultural production areas." Zhou Qian, deputy general manager of State Grid's Sihong County Power supply company, said that after the waste is treated, it will generate about 45 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
