In late June, the carrier type metallocene polypropylene catalyst (PMP-01) independently developed by the Petrochemical Institute was used for the first time in the 80,000 tons of batch liquid phase bulk polypropylene unit of Harbin Petrochemical Company, and the highly transparent metallocene polypropylene MPP6006 was successfully produced. The success of this industrial application test marks that petrochina has made zero breakthroughs in the research and development of metallocene polypropylene catalyst and the development of new products of metallocene polyolefin, filling the gap in China and providing better technical support and services for the transformation and upgrading of China's petroleum refining and chemical business.

In recent years, with the rapid development of packaging, electronics, automobiles, building materials and other industries, it has promoted the development of polypropylene industry. Petrochina launched a major scientific and technological project for the research and development of new polyolefin products and industrial application to provide technical support for the development of high value-added polypropylene special materials.

In 2014, Sinopec and Harbin Petrochemical Institute took metallocene polypropylene catalyst as a breakthrough point, and carried out joint research on metallocene transparent polypropylene products with the help of the special sub-project "Development and Industrial application of new polypropylene catalysts". After 3 years of hard work, the metallocene polypropylene catalyst (PMP-01) was successfully developed.

This catalyst not only retains the advantages of single active center and high activity of metallocene catalyst, but also has the characteristics of good fluidity, non-stick kettle and high adaptability to the device, and has industrial application value.
