Plasticizer is still the main safety hazard of plastic packaging products
Recently, Kunming Quality Supervision Bureau of Yunnan Province on the second quarter of food-related product quality supervision spot checks and risk early warning monitoring work was notified. The report shows that the overall situation of food packaging products this year is better than last year, but plasticizers are still the main safety hazards of plastic packaging products.
Food-related products refer to food plastic packaging, paper packaging and other food contact materials, directly affecting food safety. Kunming Quality Supervision Bureau for 4 consecutive years to organize food packaging product supervision and spot inspection work, product quality batch spot inspection pass rate are maintained at more than 90%.
In the second quarter of this year, Kunming Quality Supervision Bureau respectively on the products produced by Kunming food-related product production enterprises and products sold on the market for supervision and spot inspection. Among them, a total of 100 batches of samples of products produced by Kunming enterprises were sampled, and the products under supervision and sampling included plastic containers, plastic films, plastic bags and other plastic packaging containers and edible paper packaging containers, and the physical quality inspection passed rate was 95%; 14 batches of self-produced and self-used products, 86 batches of inspection product identification, 56 batches of qualified products, product identification pass rate of 56%. The main quality problems of unqualified products include unqualified health indicators, unqualified compressive strength of paper packaging containers, and unqualified label identification.
In addition, 80 batches of samples of food-related products sold on the market were selected for risk early warning monitoring, including plastic wrap bags, disposable tableware, straws, paper wan, paper plates, etc. None of the 30 paper packaging samples monitored this time detected portable fluorescent whitening agents, which was better than last year. And 44% of the samples of plastic packaging plasticizer exceeded the limit value, compared with last year, the proportion was reduced.
Chen Hong, director of the Light Industry Institute of Yunnan Provincial Quality Inspection Institute, introduced that plasticizer is a kind of plastic product additive, which is widely used because of its good plasticizing effect and low price. The study found that the plasticizer in plastic products will migrate and penetrate into the packaged food, which will cause certain harm to the human body.
