The United States may become South Korea's largest export market
South Korea posted a trade surplus of 7.2 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of this year, making the U.S. South Korea's largest trade surplus, according to Yonhap. It was followed by Vietnam, Hong Kong, India and Turkey. In terms of exports to the U.S., exports of petroleum products (30.5 percent), petrochemicals (24.7 percent), steel (26.6 percent), auto parts (16.2 percent), secondary batteries (50 percent), and plastic products (15.9 percent) all increased. In April, Korea exported 9.184 billion dollars to the U.S., a gap of 330 million dollars between its exports to China (9.517 billion dollars).
