Now he is a new Hangzhou native. As early as 1995, Lu Liqing won the title of "Folk Arts and Crafts Artist" jointly awarded by UNESCO and the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association. In 1997, he visited Brunei and performed live at the birthday banquet of His Majesty the Sultan. In 1999, Lu participated in the first Hong Kong Lantern Temple Fair, and took a photo with Mrs. Tung Chee-hwa.

Lu Liqing began to approach the door of folk art from the "sugar-blowing man". He once asked Yang Baokun, the "sugar molding master", to learn from him. Lu Liqing can not only blow all kinds of small animals, but also blow the traditional classic art images such as "crane longevity", "Dragon Phoenix auspicious" and "Good luck".

In addition to blowing sugar figures, Lu Liqing's paper-cutting is another unique skill. His paper-cutting works of Peking Opera facial masks have been exhibited abroad several times.

Wife Wang Yuzhi, it is in a paper-cutting art exchange activities and Lu Liqing met. A little accidental encounter, not only makes the two have a common hobby of young people collision out of the spark of love, but also let the two folk artists from now on opened up the folk art hand in hand to explore, common innovation road.

"In order to allow me to concentrate on the study of folk art, she not only undertook all the housework at home, but also helped me collect all kinds of folk art information everywhere, and accompanied me to travel all over the country! Without her company, it was very difficult for me to go through that difficult day!"

Lu Liqing always looks very proud when he talks about his wife. Indeed, with the help of his wife, Lu Liqing innovated the colorful paper-cutting technique and opened up a new road of folk art. His career developed by leaps and bounds. Lu Liqing also went from a small folk artist to the international stage, showing the treasures of Chinese folk art in front of international friends and winning countless honors.

Under the influence of her husband Lu Liqing, Wang Yuzhi's paper-cutting skills have also been constantly improved, and she has also learned the folk art of "dough sculpture". Loving husband and wife, accompany each other, support each other, enjoy a happy marriage, one side of the folk art innovation of the road to the wind.

Lu Bing, the only son, is an acrobat who is well known in the folk acrobatic circles of Hangzhou. Not long ago, he opened his own studio, determined to promote the "hometown of acrobatics" to the wider world.

In order to spread the superb and exquisite folk craft and art, Lu Liqing's family uses Qinghefang Block as a platform for exhibition and communication to directly show all kinds of traditional handicrafts to citizens and tourists; Sometimes, even their own money, into the school, teach the children paper-cutting, bamboo weaving and other handicraft production technology; The family is often seen on the public stage...

In Lu Liqing's words, such a display is too important, through live performance, teaching and other forms, let people enjoy the dynamic folk art at the same time, from the spirit close, return to the folk, the effect will be much better than putting a skill, work in the museum as a static exhibition.

In October 2014, Lu Liqing set up a handicraft studio in Meibei community of Xiaoying Street. Since then, there has been a new breakthrough in the inheritance and development of their folk art.
