Profit improved significantly. From January to May, 106,600 enterprises above designated size in the light industry achieved profits of 414.757 billion yuan, down 4.78 percentage points from the previous April. In the light industry, the profits of agricultural and sideline food, bicycles, plastic products and paper industries grew rapidly, with year-on-year growth of more than 10 percent.
