Amorphous Polyethylene Terephthalate, chemical name: non-crystallized polyethylene terephthalate, is a Vacuum Forming material. APET Vacuum Forming material polyester sheet (PET SHEET) is also called polyester hard tape. It is a thermoplastic environmentally friendly plastic product. Its edge materials and waste products can be recycled. The chemical elements it contains are carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, just like paper. It is a degradable plastic. After the packaging products made of this material are discarded, they eventually become water and carbon dioxide. A-PET environmentally friendly film is widely used in the packaging of cosmetics, food, electronics, toys, printing and other industries, such as various high-end Vacuum Forming packaging, folding boxes, plastic cylinders, window sheets, etc. The typical application is heat shrinkable polyester film.
The requirements for heat shrinkable plastic film are stability at room temperature, shrinkage when heated (above the glass transition temperature), and it is ideal to have more than 50% heat shrinkage in one direction. The characteristics of heat shrinkable plastic film packaging are: transparent body, reflecting the image of the product; tightly bound packaging, good anti-scattering; rainproof, moisture-proof, mildew-proof; no recovery, with certain anti-counterfeiting function. Heat shrinkable plastic film is often used for the packaging of convenient foods, beverages, electronic appliances, metal products, etc., especially shrink labels are its most important application field.
In addition to being used as shrink labels, heat shrinkable plastic film has also begun to be used for the outer packaging of daily commodities in recent years. Because it can not only prevent the packaged items from being impacted, rainproof, moisture-proof, and rust-proof, but also enable the product to win users with beautifully printed outer packaging, and at the same time it can well display the good image of the manufacturer. At present, more and more packaging manufacturers use printed shrink film to replace traditional transparent film. Because printed shrink film can improve the appearance of the product, is conducive to the advertising of the product, and can make the trademark brand have a deep impression in the minds of consumers.
Heat shrinkable plastic film is generally made of amorphous plastics, such as polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, PVDC, etc. Polystyrene (PS) shrink film has low strength and is not impact-resistant, so it is rarely used; while polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is not conducive to recycling and does not meet environmental protection requirements. In foreign countries, especially in Europe, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic film has been banned in the field of packaging, especially food packaging.
Compared with the widely used PVC film, A-PET has the following advantages:
1. Light weight: PET's specific gravity of 1.33 is 3.7% lower than PVC's specific gravity of 1.38

2. High strength: PET film is more than 20% stronger than PVC film, and has better low-temperature impact resistance. It can withstand -40¡æ without brittle cracking, so 10% thinner film is usually used to replace PVC.
3. Good folding resistance. PET film will not have self-crack creases like PVC, and is more suitable for surface decoration such as documents.
4. PET film has high transparency (PVC film is bluish), and its gloss is better than PVC film, making it more suitable for exquisite packaging.
